Dr. Chaleila is an Assistant Professor and Head of the English Department at Al- Qasemi College of Education in Israel. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English and German language and literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2014, she obtained a Ph.D. degree in English and American literature from KU Leuven in Belgium and in 2015, a Ph.D. in English from the University of Haifa in Israel. Chaleila was enrolled in a comparative literature program at Harvard University, Boston, MA in 2013, and in a postdoctoral program at KU Leuven, Belgium in 2016. Chaleila specializes in literature and her teaching fields include Anglo-American literature and poetry, multi-ethnic literature, English teaching, and academic writing. Her research spans teaching approaches, critical theory, literary theory, early and modern literatures, poetic justice and law, American history, ethnic identity, Darwinism, and Marxism. Her current research centers on "The Enemy Image of the Jew in World Literature." Chaleila has published a numerous of refereed articles and a monograph entitled Racism and Xenophobia in Early Twentieth-Century American Fiction: When a House is Not a Home, Routledge, 2021.

Dr. Kupersmitt received her PhD in English Linguistics from Bar-Ilan University in 2006, and she completed her post-doc research at Haifa University, in 2008. For the last twenty years, Dr. Kupersmitt has studied the language and discourse development of children and adolescents with typical development and with language and communication impairments. Her research focuses on the intersection between narrative development and she has published a number of articles in prestigious journals. Her studies emphasize the interaction between language forms and their functions in communicative contexts such as storytelling, in the linguistic expression of temporality, motion and affect. Dr. Kupersmitt is teaching at the Department of English at Al-Qasemi Academy and she is also the head of the MA program in Communication Disorders at Hadassah Academic College.

Dr. Amer’s specialization is instructional technology - how to integrate technology into language teaching. Dr. Amer has had several fellowships including three in the US. Dr. Amer was a guest lecturer for a month in Vietnam Hanoi university. This year he has been chosen to deliver an in-service training course for more than 500 teachers on distance learning pedagogy.

Dr. Garra-Alloush has a PhD in English from Haifa University. She worked as the head of the English Department at al-Qasemi College between the years 2014-2018. Now she is the Dean of Students. She gives courses in English Literature and Linguistics, as well as Oral proficiency courses. She is also a Pedagogical advisor for third year students. In addition, she is an M.Ed. advisor for M.Ed. students at al-Qasemi College. Her research interests include EFL Higher Education, Sociolinguistics, and also Comparative Literature.



Dr. Assaly received the B.A. degree in Linguistics from the University of Birzeit, West bank, Palestine (1986), the M.A. degree in TEFL from the University of Haifa, Israel (2004), and the Ph.D. degree from Al-Yarmouk University, Jordan (2015). She has worked as a high school teacher for 26 years. In 2004, she joined Al Qasemi Academy staff as a lecturer and a pedagogical counselor. Currently she works as a lecturer in the English department. Her research interest includes pedagogy, HOTS, technology and linguistics.

Dr. Perry received her Ph.D. in the History of Art from Harvard University. Her research focuses on visual ethics, atrocity, exhibition design, materiality and cultural diplomacy. She is the recipient of numerous postdoctoral fellowships and grants from the Getty Foundation, the Dedalus Foundation, EHRI and CASVA at the National Gallery in DC. In 2019, she was awarded the Humanist of the Year Award from the Rogatchi Foundation for excellence in teaching, scholarship and curation. Her articles have appeared in many peer reviewed journals including October, History and Memory, French Cultural Studies, RIHA and Art Bulletin.

Dr. Jabareen received his Doctoral Degree (Ed. D.) in “Administration, Training and Policy Studies”in 2007 from Boston University: Boston MA, USA. He also obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in English Literature in 1985, Connecticut College: New London CT, USA, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Literature and Arabic Literature 1983 from Tel Aviv University, Israel.

Ms. Atamna teaches English language and literature at Al-Qasemi Academic College. Her main field of research and study is 19th century Literature, also known as the Victorian era. Atamna received her B.A. and M.A. from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has submitted her dissertation entitled “Testing the Ideal: The Representation of Father Figures in Charles Dickens’s Novels” at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

(B.A. 1986; M.A. 1992 Hebrew University of Jerusalem; PhD. 1997 Leiden University) has been teaching English syntax, grammar, morphology, semantics, and pragmatics at Al-Qasemi college and English for academic purposes at Zefat Academic College since 2009. Previously (1998- 2008), he taught linguistics, English syntax and pragmatics at the Arab Academic college-Haifa from 1998-2008. He is interested in natural language syntax, negation, metaphor, proper names and Sufi discourse.

Dr. Keblawi has a BA in English and Education from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, an MA (Dist) in TESL from Tel Aviv University, an MA (Dist) in Islamic studies from Abertay University, Scotland, and a PhD in TESL from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Dr. Keblawi has founded and run numerous schools and educational organizations. His research interests include language learning motivation, teacher education and the memorization of the Quran.
