Call for Application: International Conference on: “Fantastic Narrative” in Literary, Religious, and Philosophical Contexts

The Faculty of Humanities at Al-Qasemi Academic College of Education is proud to announce that the application for the International Conference on: "Fantastic Narrative" in Literary, Religious, and Philosophical Contexts is now open.
The Conference will be held on Sunday, 19.04.2020 at Al-Qasemi Academic College of Education.
The Faculty of Humanities specially invites papers for thematic sessions that report on research carried out in various disciplines. Perspectives addressed by these papers include, but are not limited to:

  1. The fantastic narrative in ancient literature and Holy Scriptures.
  2. The fantastic narrative in Islamic texts.
  3. The fantastic narrative in modern Arabic literature.
  4. The fantastic narrative in Hebrew literature.
  5. The fantastic narrative in Anglo-American literature.
  6. Genre: the intricacy of definition and the multiplicity of conceptions.
  7. The critical maintenance of the fantastic phenomenon.
  8. The relationship between fantasy and reality.
  9. Difficulties in reciting and reading fantastic literature.
  10. The philosophical perspective of "the fantastic".
  11. "The Fantastic" in The Thousand and One Nights.
  12. Miracles in myths, legends, folklore arts, and travel literature.

Abstracts must not exceed 250 words to be written either in English or in Arabic and submitted no later than 30.1.2020.

Full papers must be submitted no later than 19.05.2020. The papers will be reviewed by the Conference Committee and will be judged on the basis of both individual and global criteria. Accepted submissions will be published in the Conference Book.
