Joint lectures were held between Al-Qasemi Academic College and Perimeter College - Georgia State University within the course: “Multiethnic Literature: American Identity” taught by Dr. Wisam Chaleila from Al-Qasemi and Dr. Michelle Kassorla from GSU.
This initiative was implemented within Virtual Exchange Student Program in an International Environment (VESIE) that is led by Al-Qasemi International Academic Relations Office which aims to develop academic English use, digital competence and intercultural communication skills.
In this program, ten lectures were developed between the two institutions that consisted of theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as group work among students for presentations and writing essays about “American Identity”.
The students emphasized the importance of such joint lectures that develop not only knowledge about the course topics, but also about different cultures and perspectives in addition to enhancing cooperative learning and interpersonal skills.
